Alex Gardner

Profile

Before joining the ADA, Alex spent over 10 years in packaging and graphic design working for a major international organisation in their European Creative Services operation. This experience, together with the technical expertise she has gained through the Diploma course, has helped Alex to develop skills in the following areas which she now applies to her current projects:

Developing a clear and detailed client brief during which she will ensure that the client’s needs are identified and all alternatives have been explored.
Producing a high quality presentation of the design concept in the form of mood boards, sample boards and further visualisation through perspective and scale drawings.
Taking on client feedback and incorporating their ideas and preferences in a positive and inclusive manner.

Alex has also had plenty of practical experience of house redesign having twice completed the renovation of her own home. In both cases major structural building work was involved.
Alex feels the key to good design is to analyse how a space will be used and to make the most of its natural or architectural features. She believes the early involvement of an interior designer in any project will ensure that the full potential of the space is achieved, as often problems occur if the end use and look are considered too late in a project.
